Madison Veterinary Technician Program

Madison College gives a learning opportunity to all students and professionals. With its course offerings you can strengthen your educational background and prepare to build a competitive career. You can enroll for its courses at any age and level of experience. It is providing more than 140 career programs from twelve convenient locations of Madison and South-Central Winsconsin.

Its Truax Campus is providing the Veterinary Technician course. This program enables the students to observe and cure the diseases of veterinary patients. It teaches various skills like nursing care of animals, administration of anesthesia, medication preparation, clinical pathology procedures, dental prophylaxis, feeding animals, record keeping, client education, communication etc.

The classes covered in first, second, third and fourth term are taught in a sequential order, and each class awards some credits to the students. Some of the class-topics include Occupational Preparation, Lab Animal Science, Veterinary Medical Terminology, Animal Diseases, Animal Care and Management, Surgical Nursing, Animal Anatomy & Physiology, Diagnostic Imaging, Pharmacology and so on. Finally the fifth term is of internship which prepares the students for entering the professional world efficiently.

This program has been accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association’s Committee on Veterinary Technician Education and Activities.

For getting admission the students must submit their application before the deadline of July 1, 2010.

Following documents are required to apply for this program:
1. High School transcript – or
2. HSED/GED Test Scores – and
3. All College transcripts – and
4. COMPASS, ASSET, ACT or SAT test scores. Bachelors Degree waives testing.

Cost:
Approximately the First Semester and Second Semester cost of this program is $2,324.87 and $1,896.24 respectively.
